TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION LANDSCAPE DESIGN GUIDELINES
Lose & Associates, Inc. was awarded the contract to develop Landscape Design Guidelines for the Tennessee Department of Transportation. As part of the submittal, graphics were developed to illustrate the concepts for the design solutions section of the document. This featured two different design approaches for 6 different interchanges, intersections and rights-of-way, totaling twelve different design scenarios to include thousands of individual plants. Land F/X software was used in conjunction with Google SketchUp because of the large scope of the project and the flexibility the two programs offered when used in tandem. Moving between the two programs using the SketchUp Connection function of Land F/X, quick adjustments were made to fine tune the look and feel of the graphics before using a light rendering plug-in for SketchUp to create the final renderings.
