THE BEITZ RESIDENCE
The design of the front and back yards of this residence address multiple goals laid forth by the owners. A terraced front yard using native stone retaining walls, lawn, and numerous rows of planting, enhance and contribute to the overall formal design of this home. In the back yard the living space extends outside but remains buffered from the busy street beyond through the use of a stucco wall. The wall seamlessly transitions from the home to enclose the new outdoor living space, which includes an outdoor kitchen, eating area, and fireplace with seating area. Two other seating areas allow the owners to have multiple vantage points to enjoy their yard from, and to watch over their children. A crushed granite seating area out under the trees makes the space seem larger. An additional seating area outside the stucco wall allows views into the yard within close proximity to the main entertainment area.
